Privacy

Personal stays personal — so here is exactly what is collected, and what is sent where.

This website

No cookies and no tracking across sites.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and only reports aggregate numbers (pages viewed, referrers, countries).
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes the requests your browser makes to serve the pages.
Fonts and images are served from this site. The one third-party script is Cloudflare's cookieless analytics beacon.
If you email hello@sophiloop.com, we use your message only to reply.
Launch emails. If you ask to be emailed when Companion launches, we store your address and the time you signed up, on Cloudflare. We send that one email and then delete the list. To be removed sooner, email hello@sophiloop.com.

The app's full privacy policy will be published here before launch. In plain words, today:

Stored on your machine. Memories, notes, meeting transcripts and settings live in a folder in your home directory. There are no SoPhi servers holding your data.
Speech is transcribed locally. Audio is never uploaded.
Your model, your choice. With a local model, your content stays on your machine. With a cloud model (for example Claude), the text Companion works on — chats, meeting transcripts, memories it is organising — is sent directly to that provider with your own key, under their privacy terms.
Licence check. Activating and checking your licence sends the licence key and this machine's user and computer name to our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy.
Update check. The app asks for the latest version number, sending only its own version.
First-time downloads. Setting up voice and browser tools downloads them once from their public sources.
Crash reports are saved on your machine and never sent anywhere.
Accepting the terms. When you accept the terms in the app, the version and the time are saved in a file on your machine. Nothing is sent.
